As you may have noticed, we’ve tightened up and redesigned both our weekly emails and our website. The original mission of the emails hasn’t changed: they still serve up a shortlist of quality events every week, so you can quickly find something great to do. And the mailers and the site are now seamlessly connected.

The biggest change for Flavorpill is the website itself. Coming to you via our dusted-off dot-com address (we’ve always owned it, seemed like a good idea), the redesigned site now offers a bigger, yet still manageable, selection of things to do — offering daily updates of listings and photos, better browsing, an event calendar, and quick navigation into new sections, including free events and big shows.
We’ve always been about providing a shortlist of filtered events, a cure for the overload of cultural information out there. Although we’re still holding true to that, we now have more room to play and have expanded out a bit, looking forward more than 30 days and offering more diversity, as well as including some larger events that would normally sell out by the time the mailers publish. Note, however, that even as we expand the site to make it better, Flavorpill is still all about quality and manageability. The point is always to leave you with a digestible list of great events that you can trust.
We’re now publishing on a daily basis, uploading new event listings, photos, and breaking news stories in our Flavorwire section multiple times a day. Check back often to get into our daily groove.

In addition to publishing more listings every day, we’re kicking off the new site with a few improved features we think you’ll dig, including a photo gallery, and a cover gallery.
The photo gallery, aka Next Day Photo, has been presenting photos from some of the events we list in NYC for months. Check in to see what you missed, or if you’re in a picture.
A proper cover gallery is now up too. Since the very early days of Flavorpill, we’ve been soliciting cover art designs from our readers. This project has taken on a life of its own, and we now curate a fantastic collection of covers from our city guides and culture publications. In the gallery, you can navigate easily through the artists and their designs and read their bios.
We currently publish more than eleven titles, and are growing. Managing all those subscriptions has sometimes become a bit of a pain (thanks for letting us know). We hope this makes things simpler for you. If you’ve been with us for years, just create a password on our signup page and get started right away. If you’re new, we hope you enjoy the simplicity. We encourage you to sign up for a bunch of different publications knowing that never spam, and that unsubscribing is just as easy as subscribing.
While there are a lot of changes happening, know that Flavorpill’s core mission is the same as it’s always been — seeking out worthwhile cultural happenings and sharing them with you. We never take money for listings, and we only list events that we’d hit up ourselves. We’re working hard to unearth a quality selection of events in your city, and we hope these improvements to the mailer and site make it easier for you to find, decide, and go out.
We have loads more features in the pipeline, which will make the site more expansive, customizable, and participatory. We want to hear what you think before, during, and after the roll-out of new features, so please take a look around and let us know: what works, what doesn’t, and what would you like to see on Flavorpill?
This blog is your look inside Flavorpill HQ (the website doesn't build itself, you know)! Find out what makes us tick, what's new to the site, and what keeps clicking, right here, daily.
